A Board of Directors meeting was held Thursday January 28 7:00PM at the Mother of God House of Prayer. President Ruby Daniels called the meeting to order. In attendance were 10 people.
The January Community Planning Kick-Off meeting was considered a success. A roadmap was established by Dr. Jerry Murphy with strong community attendance.
Bill Redfern and Julianne Thomas of The Conservancy led discussion on the North Olga Plan, lack of community support, and a plethora of legal issues with the plan as submitted. Julianne Thomas volunteered to present their issues with the North Olga Plan at the February general meeting.
Jim Green reported on the newly-established LPA repository for emails received by LPA Members on subjects that the LPA will conduct hearings and vote on. People can request these documents by contacting the County Attorney’s Office.
The raffle fundraiser netted about $1,847.00 after expenses!
Steve Brodkin reported Debbie Jackow’s plans to run for BOCC, and the recommendation to oppose the Babcock Road Comp Plan Amendment in early March.
Janet Tripp reported on the community opposition to the proposed Calusa Palms 63 acre marina/hotel/etc. complex proposed at SR 31 and the Caloosahatchee River.
