May 8, 2003 - Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Rob Andrys.  A quorum was not present so no official business was conducted.  Vince Cautero, professional planner - Coastal Engineering attended.   Vince and Jim Larue will represent ALVA inc and act as our spokespersons before the LPA (Local Planning Agency)  and the Board of County Commissioners as our community plan is reviewed.  The date of the public hearing before the LPA has been set for May 28, Wednesday at 8:30 AM .  It is very important that people attend to voice their support of the plan.  It was also pointed out that there is very little time to review the county’s recommendations prior to this date.  Vince will be meeting with Jim Mudd from the planning department in the next few days to try to get more information on the county’s review of the plan.  He will also meet with some individuals who have expressed objections to the plan and try to determine the nature of these objections.  More discussion of the plan’s upcoming review at the LPA will occur at the Alva general community meeting on May 22.
